The Buddha and the Zen masters through the ages all tell you to follow your breath. From one to ten, one to ten, adjust your mind carefully, and then focus on and observe the thoughts that arise. Do this repeatedly, until the mind rests. If the illusion, in other words the thoughts that arise, is not so serious, you can also just pay attention to breathing in and out. When coming in, with the depth of your inhale, clearly pay attention to the route of the breath, when exhaling, completely empty yourself of all air. After you slowly practice skillfully, when you calm down, thoughts will directly stop, and once thoughts arise, you can simply be aware of them and keep your mind still.
