In what way does meditation help people experiencing psychosis?

What is the minimum time you should meditate for daily? Should you have silence or is guided meditation helpful? Have you ever experienced someone getting better from mental health conditions with the help of meditation?

This depends on what kind of psychosis, if it’s mania, I think the person can’t sit still, probably dancing around is what they like. If it’s depression, appropriate meditation, to relax your body and empty your mind, can let your nervous system have a rest. But this needs a professional teacher to give guidance according to different circumstances.

My way of cultivation is to keep aware and clearheaded all the time. If you just sit still, probably you need about an hour. Silence and guidance each have different effects, which need to be used according to different patients, different practitioners and different purposes.

A lot of people around me are very anxious, also very impetuous, but they always do not notice. When I tell them, some people don’t admit it at all. So, I ask them to try meditation. They feel much better after trying, because usually they cannot keep still, or they fall asleep as they calm down.

The first case is because of too much illusion, the second situation is due to the loss of too much energy, the body and mind then do not coordinate well with each other. This causes people to lose balance and produce all kinds of physical and mental diseases. We should take good precautions against these problems and learn to adjust them, so as to achieve better stability and happiness.
